AMKAS Nepal implemented the “Sunaulo Mauka” Project to promote greater income security, and safer, more productive employment among Nepali migrant workers and their families. The goal of the Sunaulo Mauka project was to strengthen the capacity of migrant workers to engage with the formal financial sector and the world of work by expending the capabilities of the popular mobile platform, Shuvayatra, in ways that provide migrants with access to new training resources and better services.
“The Sunaulo Mauka” project helped to bring employers and workers together in a new ways that leaded to fewer information gaps for searchers and employers, and easier access to information on job opportunities. By linking CSOs, private sector and government actors to migrants in new ways, the project expanded the capacity of these organizations to deliver important services directly to migrants and their families.
