Specializing in working with and for Nepali women workers, both domestic and migrant, AMKAS has garnered widespread recognition as a pioneering organization in the field, despite its relatively short period of existence.

We are dedicated to up-skilling and educating Nepali women workers through consistent policy advocacy, knowledge dissemination, awareness campaigns, and the exploration and encouragement of innovative ideas and methods to foster a robust employment sector.

To organize returnee women migrant workers so as to strengthen their voice

To ensure rights of women workers are respected, fulfilled, guaranteed and protected.

To design and implement methods of: ethical recruitment, research, publication, and re-integration of women workers.

To develop partnerships with national and international bodies to support the rights and interests of migrant workers and their families.

Our strategic Goals

Strategic Goals (2019–2023)

  1. To increase research and publication in the issues faced by women migrant workersby the mobilization of migrant workers to develop a solid evidence-based policy advocacy base.
  2. To expand the scope of preventive and curative measures to curtail violation of human rights of and violence against women migrant workers, and among the survivors of trafficking against persons.
  3. To design and implement innovative programs to ensure migrant workers are recruited, retained and released in ethical and fair manner, and to present such programs for scaling-up.
  4. To support re-integration of migrant workers, in particular women migrant workers, through financial literacy, paralegal support, entrepreneurship development, facilitation for skills certification, and psychosocial support.
